Refresh the old: “Le tunnel”

Paris-nouveau-tunnel

This old tunnel is a new night club in Issy Les Moulineaux, near Paris XVem. This night club is a very specific place to do party. This is an old tunnel used as a wine cellar and where was cultivate mushrooms. So this is a very special place under Paris.

When we arrived in the first tunnel it looks very gloomy by night. But after we realised that there are lights put on the wall everywhere, in order to keep the place a little bit cheerful.

After walking while a few minutes, we arrived in the night club. The sound there is very clear thanks to the real bricks walls. The sound which convey to our ears is very nice and the atmosphere too.

The night club welcomes as young people as adults, a real melting pot of ages and culture. There is no particular dress code even if the Friday night is a little bit chic than the Saturday night. But often time they accept almost any style.

So if you want to spend good times with your friends, and discover a particular place that you don’t use to see by night go to the tunnel.

Marlusse et Lapin

marlusse

« Marlusse et  Lapin » is a bar in Paris in the district of Montmartre at the station Abbesses. There is a very good atmosphere, in a beautiful district. It would be a shame to miss this bar in the little road of “Germain Pilon”, this place is discreet from the outside but when you go in, and you feel directly the sympathy of this place.

This bar is formerly a ground floor of an apartment but it was designed by his owners while keeping the spirit. On the wall you can see old wallpaper and portraits of grandpa and grandma, a large bed was transformed into benches. With this description you can think this place is for the old person but the animations are pretty nice, you can have a concert, DJ session or films screening. There is always a lot of people who come here, and you always feel good.

The others good points of this place, are that the waiters are really nice and relaxed, and drinks are not very expensive. During the happy hour ( 16h to 20h ), pints of beer are only three euros, and in a normal our it’s five euros, and an other good points is that you can have real Absinthe served in the former like they say. So it’s a good place if you don’t want to spend a lot of money and have a nice late afternoon.

So if you want to go to a really good place, where you can be relaxed, and where you are warmly welcomed, I really recommend you “Marlusse et Lapin”. You will have a nice moment in this unusual place, in one of the famous and nicer district of Paris, and you will certainly meet some people so I hope you will trust me and go there when you can.

“Le dernier bar avant la fin du monde ” : The last bar before the end of the world.

le-dernier-bar-avant-la-fin-du-monde-paris-1342624453

The end of the world has passed but the bar has remained, victim of its success. Originally created to celebrate the end of the world that was supposed to arrive on 21 December 2012, this bar is unlike any other bar, maybe because it was conceived by geeks.

Upon our arrival, the tone is set : we go into a zombie-proof bunker and a “space to feel the imagination.” Inside you will discover a completely offbeat world where Star Wars and Jules Verne collide. This bar is filled with references to delight geeks and non-geeks.

At the entrance is a ship from Star Wars, a place to disarm, and a countdown to the end of the world. Then you can choose between several rooms each of which is its own world: Medieval, pirates, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jules Verne … Therefore the decor throws us into a special world. Its warm and comfortable rooms invite us to play as much as drink.

Card games, books and board games are available. But something is even more original : video games are embedded in many of the tables.

This bar goes even further: there is integrated gaming in a urinal in the men’s restroom. As for drinks, we remain in the theme of the bar with original names and cocktails that make you want to taste it: the precious, the Jedi night, Hollister, etc.. Same for food and tapas. This completely unique bar is a good address if you want to switch world and spend a nice evening that changes from usual. The atmosphere is very nice and we feel quickly at ease even if we are not a geek at heart.

Some flaws though: at 10 euros per drink, the prices are a bit high and the bar is more and more crowded.

The famous “Planches” of Paris

lp

If I say “Les Planches”, you might think of the well-known walk or night club in Deauville, the Norman Cannes, but here I will tell you about the night club of the same name in Paris. Welcoming around a thousand of students every night, it is at the heart of the Parisian students’ nights. The week is punctuated by many different parties like the school party on Wednesdays and La Nouba on Fridays.

On Wednesdays, many students gather there for what we call “La School”. The entrance is free for ladies before 1:00 a.m and for everybody with a ticket pass that you can download on the web. Paradoxically, the entrance is free but students seem more like the Parisian golden youth than people who can’t pay their entrance, which is 10€ in regular term. So come early, around midnight, to be sure not to pay the entrance ticket. Inside, you will be surrounded by a lot of students, aged between 18 and 24 years old, who want to forget their schoolwork and abandon themselves on the dance floor until the sun rises up. If you really want to have fun and spend a cheap night, don’t hesitate, go there.

La Nouba, on Fridays, gather students between 16 and 22 years old in a more selective atmosphere as people come well-dressed. The DJ plays disco and 80’s sounds you can dance on or better dance, the famous couple dance, called “le Rock”.   Stop thinking, join us there!
